Hi There,

My poor computer has been working all night to get things transferred, but it's done.

Because A Capitol 4th was produced by The National Park Service and The Armed Forces branches of our Government, the program is considered in the Public Domain, so I'm not breaking Copyright Laws doing this.

Go to this link:

Due to copyright restrictions, this link has been closed.

And you'll get the full program of A Capitol 4th to not only view but download. I do have to apologize for the size, but the bigger the size of the screen, the bigger the file and longer it takes to get it uploaded. The good news, with this downloadable version, you can put it on your iTunes to watch or synch it to a portable player (like iPod Touch or iPhone) and carry Barry with you wherever you want. :o)

Have a wonderful Sunday, time for me get ready for Church.

I recorded it on DVD, using Standard Play on the DVD which gives it one of the best qualities in picture and sound on the DVD. The bad part of that is, the file for a 2 hour show fills up a 6 hour DVD. The file is really huge.

I transferred it on my Mac via a program called Handbrake. Handbrake is an open source program, so it remains free of charge, to convert DVD video to other formats. I converted it to mp4, and even after shrinking it for the mp4 format it's still 1 gig of memory.

In order for me to upload video onto my mobile me account I have to use iMovie, so I had to import the mp4 into iMovie, which took a little while because the format is being changed again into something iMovie will read. From there I "share" the video to my Mobile Me account, which is on an Apple server somewhere, which took another 8 hours to do. This is because it is decreasing the file size, as well as the screen size, so it will not kill the server before it uploads.

All in all, the process takes a good 12 hours to do. Was it worth it? Just ask the people who didn't get to watch it at all last night, and I think the answer is a resounding yes.

I am grateful for the technology that allowed for me to do this. I was also really grateful that the stereo sound remained after all of those transfers! LOL! Things have definitely come a long way!
