Hi again Karen,
I attribute OUR guy's fast recovery to the fact that Barry has always been so active & of course that he is following doctors orders.

Hi Karen and welcome. I´m the scandinavian "edge" of the BARRYWORLD and fan people, in here. I´m from Denmark which is north to Germany and south to Norway. It´s in between, so to speak and a small country with 5.5 million citizens. I´ve been a fan since 2007 but saw BARRY first time in danish TV in 1975 singing "Mandy". My dad was the fan of all american popular music. He was the fan of Frank Sinatra and was following up everytime some new singer or artist came through in USA. That´s why he had to watch BARRY in 1975 too. I was bottled up with this music and watched him too. "Mandy" walked straight into my life and heart without my knowledge. I had only one CD in 1975 with "Mandy" on it and it was because of that song. I was 13 years old and loving my other idol, didn´t think I should have other idols in my life. 30 years went by, I got a new computer in 2005 and God knows why, I still remembered this name, Barry Manilow and I googled him, not knowing anything about him, if he still was performing in 2005 or how old he could be or if, SORRY, he even was alive. I had absolutely no knowledge about BARRY just 4 songs, "I Write the Songs", "Can´t Smile Without You", "Copacabana" and "Mandy". That how all danes know Barry Manilow. I fortunately learned, BARRY still performed and was HOT on stage. I got into the Barrynet, not here because it wasn´t up at that time yet. I found friends in there because I began writing about my big love towards this wonderful music and not only BARRY´S but the music in generel. I was very close as to being a Barry Manilow fan but I wasn´t a fan when I went into the site in 2005. I really wanted to go to a concert even though I was sitting in Denmark and I saw BARRY was performing all the way over in Las Vegas. I got help from a sweet girl who now is my friend for life. In 2007 I succeeded in getting tickets for my first ever trip to Las Vegas and a show, my first ever Las Vegas show. When I landed in Vegas I saw a city I´ve seen in the TV, nothing was different. I IMMEDIATELY fell in love. I loved the lights, the buildings, everything. Why, becuase I´ve family in Dallas and L.A and have seen big cities with beautiful lights at nights. But Vegas was special. When I drove through it in this cap coming from the airport in 2007 for the first time, I felt like I was in a fairy tale. Coming to the Hilton, seeing BARRY on the wall and I was thinking to myself, what am I doing, is this happening, am I going to this star LIVE in a couple of days and YES, Karen. I had stage seats. I saw BARRY close up and in that moment he came to my seat, I FELL IN LOVE AND BECAME A FAN. Since that wonderful concert, i´ve been to concerts in 2008 and this year. I hope and pray i can go in 2010. I also have gottem this wonderful friend who I´ve been visiting where she live in Montana. She´s in here sometimes, she´s a wonderful girl, her name is Jeanine Bailey. GOD BLESS HER GOREVER. MANILOVE VIBEKE.

Welcome to the club. I'm sure you will enjoy it here, as I have for the past couple of years. There are lot's of good discussions here. I love to hear about everyones first encounter with barry, or how they they were first introduced to his music and what got them hooked.
I see you are from Jacksonville, Fla. That is cool, as I used to spend a couple of weeks in the winter in Middleburg Fla. at a Golf Resort called "RAVINES". From 1996 through 2002 I would travel down from Toronto, with my Manilow music on the CD player for 20 hours straight.
Enjoy your time here and we look forward to hearing of your Manilow experiences.
Hello, Karen and welcome. I too, am really new, but have been a fan forever. I never post too much as I don't know what to say to people, but I like this site because everyone loves Barry and his music and most people seem to be really positive and friendly. So welcome, and hope you enjoy the friends and fans!
