Looking For An Old Barry Pen Pal From The 80's

Way back in the early 80's when I first joined the BMIFC (LMNOP), they used to list a pen pal section in the BarryGram for folks who wanted to get to know other folks (yes, we actually used to write to each other using a pen and paper or a typewriter lol). I made some great Barry friends, but I have lost touch with just about all of them except one who lives in CT. She and I still write, although it's about a year or two (literally) between letters.

One I have always wondered about is a lady from Iowa that I used to write to. Her name is (or was at the time) Ruth Jamison. I have no idea if she is married now or not, so her last name may be different now. I do know that at the time we were writing, she lived in the Cedar Rapids area.

Anyone know her?? I would love to get back in touch with her again.

Hi Maria, I must admit sending someone an email is alot faster than sitting down and actual wrtting someone a letter. But on the other hand it was I think a bit more personal . Because you got to know eachother . And it was really nice receiving a letter from all of my Barry Friends back then. All of which I sadly say have lost touch with . Except my longtime friend Denise . Her and I have been friends for 22 years now. And what a very dear friend she is just like you are Maria. Linda

Well, we didn't have sites like this that took up so much of our time, so we had time to write letters!

I love writing letters!!! I have a friend who has moved across the country and we have decided to write the 'old fashioned' way to each other. It does take longer but it's kinda nice for a change from looking at a computer screen, and is more personal.
