This site is in no way related to or in affiliation with my position at The Desert Sun.

It is devoted to the “lives Barry’s music has changed”. Though we appreciate him for so many reasons, this site truly is just about the music.

Over time I will be adding my personal experiences and I look forward to reading yours.

I am terminally ill and the doc's won't tell me when I should expect to have to 'meet my maker.' I became very depressed (not getting out of bed, not eating or taking care of myself. When I started following this site and taking more interest I was in a very dark place. I started following this site and taking more interest in Barry and my fellow fans. Gradually my mood started to change and I gleaned pleasure, amusement and wonderful friends.
I got a support system in place to help care for me (physically), my moods improved as I realized the world was still spinning. I got out of bed, with help kept clean and even dressed every day even though I wasn't going anywhere. I didn't even get bummed out when my husband finialized our divorce.
Barry has unknowingly been my 'rock'. The problem with him being my rock is I'll never hear him say my name or comfort me during the bad spells. He won't even know when my day has come. I guess what I've gained from him is a long-distance, bitter-sweet understanding unbeknownst to him. His music may help live a couple more years.

Great idea, Helen. I have a great little story I wrote and no place to really send it. I'm sure other Barry fans can relate. My friends think I'm nuts - too old to be a "groupie". I sent the thing to the fan club, but I'm sure Barry probably will never read it, so now I can post it here. Any limit on length?

Happy to provide a vehicle for your story. You are never too old, and I doubt you're a "groupie".

No limit no length, write as long a story as you choose, mine is very, very long. I'll be adding to it in increments.
