Oh come on, SURELY there must be some of us BMIFC-CLUB 99rs left from the old days ?
Those who don’t know what I'm talking about : In the early 80's BMIFC introduced “CLUB 99”, which meant that if you joined, you would receive a LIFETIME BMIFC membership and club privileges. At the convention in Atlanta, they organized a special club 99 reception, and then it kind of died a slow death I think. Club 99 members are forgotten about a little, IMHO, cause other than the BarryGram, we get no new membership cards, no pins, no renewal packages, etc… unless you ASK for them. Instead of the promised privileges, we kind of are neglected, I find.
So, if you’re a BMIFC-club 99 member, going to London or not, please join this group. Let’s show Barry that we’re still alive and kicking – just like he is !! LOL

I don't receive much communication from the fan club but still consider myself to be one of the fortunate early members. I feel like the 99er's kept the fan club on it's feet in the early days when Barry was becoming a rising star. Hope they pull all our names out of the archeives and send us a big "thank you for being there" package. I still like to have my Barry "stuff". Love to all 99er's.

- I've felt kind of like an orphan over the years. I have not gotten any renewal or "things" from the Club 99 in forever. Of course I've moved several times, and we all know how mail goes...

Yes I do remember that. But I can't find my card from back them. So I have been paying my $10 a year anyway. But I do have my card that has my number on it. I learned quick about holding on to that
stuff fast. I'll change my photo this week to my Platnium w/ Barry in
Denver on his Last Tour. I was so excited for that time just he & I.
i REALLY didn't travel to see Barry untill my girls were out of school.
Then I could have some time to myself

Wow, what a nice surprise to find other Club 99'ers on here. I've got to say, that they do occasionally send me stuff just out of the blue. One year it was a coffee mug.
You'll never guess what appeared in my mailbox today? A renewal kit. This is the second one in twelve months. Amazing, yes?? It is so nice to be remembered.
It contained a really nice photo of Barry -with a note on the back & my BMIFC number (so I can purchase lots and lots of tickets). A schedule for the Hilton (so I know when to buy tickets). A note pad & ball point pen emblazoned with this year's BMIFC logo (presumably to be used to jot down confirmation numbers after buying tickets) and a new lapel pin.
So keep your eyes open, Club 99'ers, you never know when the BMIFC may reach out and touch.

- As I was looking through the groups and saw this one. I often wondered what happened to Club 99. I thought it was special to be a "lifetime" member. Maybe it was just me.

I've been a club 99'r since it started but I'm very disapointed that they didn't live up to their end of the bargan. I guess by now they forgot what they promised. I'm still proud to one of the few. I don't know where the rest of us are.

On 2nd June 2008, you were the only person that responded to my question: Does anyone belong to 99’s club? Now, I see, you have started a discussion and managed to find 39. Well done. It appears there aren’t many from the U.K. though. Or maybe I’m wrong?
I still receive my renewal package each year. At least I think it’s every year. If you don’t, send them a letter or email. It’s the least we deserve. If you’ve been forgotten - Let them know you’re still alive!

Hi, I agree 100%. I think they want us to just go away on our own. That's why we don't get any yearly pins, etc. anymore. We must try to reach more of our group but I'll bet most of them don't follow Barry anymore like they used to. Oh well, It's their loss!
