Is there one song of Barry's that just makes you turn on the waterworks (as my dad uses to call them) Do you just cry a river whenever the song is being played? And,eventhough you are crying your eyes out, you just have to hear it over and over again?
Forme it is WE LIVE ON BORROWED TIME. I listen to that song and cry to those words that are so true. and once the song is finished, i play it again and again and listen to it over and over as the tears are streaming down my face.
I covered more or less this one under a different blog a little while ago,but here goes. The first time Barry sang live at the Royal Albert Hall the song If Tomorrow Never Comes. My mum died the night before, and the words of the song had me in tears, was tearing at my heart and i coudn't control myself for a while. My friend saw me crying and understood why, with her arm on my back was rubbing it gently trying to comfort me.Gee whizz i can feel that emotion coming back to me now as i am doing this. I did tell my mum i loved her many times, but the lines that express that love to a loved one in case Tomorow never comes, just hits me every time. We live on borrowed time is another excellent song for this catergory, because the title is so true in itself let alone the song itself.
OMG, the first time I heard 'You're There' I cried my eyes out thinking of my mom, who I lost suddenly when I was 19 years old. Every word rings true for me. And as for 'Even Now', it always reminded of me of my first love, the love of my life......and it's because of listening to that song that I had the courage to recently get back in touch with him, and it feels as if not a day has passed since we last spoke. Thank you Barry for being such an inspiration.
The Barry song that makes me cry the most is Somewhere down the road. When I listen to the words it reminds me of all the family and friends that have gone.
