I'll get alot of thumbs down on this; I eventually would want to see/own the movie but I feel the Jackson's (especially Joe) capitalizing on Michael's death so soon is distasteful. I expected no less though. I taped Diana, Princess of Wales funera...

Jacki, I can relate. I felt as if a piece of my childhood died when he did. It was a definite loss. As my daughter said, it was totally out of left field. "Michael Jackson doesn't die" I am looking forward to seeing the movie.

Yes
I've trying to think of what to say about Barry, I am a 52 year old, single female. I had a choir director in high school that first introduced me to Barry. My choir director thought that Barry was the greatest composer, musician and singer of modern times. He held him in high esteem because "musically he was the total package". I remember coming back to high school to visit and hearing "One Voice" blasting at full volume in the choir room. I thought that I too would be a singer and was studying vocal music at Western IL University.

I've always admired Barry and was always very anxious to hear every new album no matter the concept, twist or turn. There was always a gem or two or three on each and every album. I have them all and can sing along with all the lyrics. It is very comforting to have all these "friends" in good and bad times. Thank you Barry and all your lyricists for all the gifts you have given to the world. As long as we all live, you too will live on.
Thanks you again. May God Bless everyone who helps you and keeps you going as we love every moment of it.

"This Is It" It really was........

Know this has nothing to do with Mr. Manilow but am just coming down from seeing MJ at work. What a gifted and talented man. Such a shame that he is gone. He really had more talent in his pinkie than almost anyone else (exception-Mr. Manilow). There were several things that impressed me, his understanding of timing and how silence is important in a song as it plays out and how movement so enhances the story telling of a song. The tribute to his brothers, his wishes for our planet and his huge ta… Continue

One Less Place for Mr. Manilow

Saw this on ET yesterday, Garth Brooks has taken up residence at the Encore. Steve Wynn is flying him back and forth from Las Vegas to OK. And after the gig he gets to keep the plane. Nice perk huh.

If you could.....

As Mr. Manilow is now recording or going to record "The Greatest Love Songs" what songs would you love to hear on that CD? Lets' keep it to 5 selections.

Mine 1. Someone to Watch Over Me

2. What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?

3. A House Is Not a Home

4. Hello Again

5. Evergreen

The way he turns a lyric- I would love to hear his arrangements of these songs.

What about you?

I was going to look up some Manilow lyrics and.....

I found a song named "Only in Chicago" while looking at some lyrics. It is a great lyric and very much written in the spirit of having been to Chicago. Never remember hearing it, Does anyone know where it can be found? They have it as a ringtone but I would like to know what album it can be found on, It says Mr. Manilow is the lyric writer.
Just really curious.
