I've always thought an instrumental CD would be awesome. I love Barry's voice, of course, but he also has some amazing arrangements and his songs sound incredible when played by a full orchestra. Just refer to the Manilow Live DVD. Remember I Made I…

I remember years ago some mention of an instrumental album. Did Barry ever do that?

I know, I know, I know--enough covers. Covers though are a great way to keep Barry's name and music in the spotlight while he works on the original albums which take longer. After watching the the end of Manilow TV concert in NJ with Let Freedom Rin…

Thanks for visiting my page, have a whale of a time

Welcome to my Beyond the Sea Manilow page.

My name is Jon, I live in some bar by the harbor. OK, it's not really a bar, but it is by the harbor. I have been a Manilow fan since 1978 and got married to "The Best Seat In the House" on Halloween. My experience with Manilow music was an 8-track promo tape from GM. The tape would play on the long drives from New Haven to Grand Rapids, MI where my Grandparents lived. Mandy and This One's For You were on there and they seemed to echo off the Appalachians in Pennsylvania. To this day I associate those songs with my Grandparents and they remain my favorites.

Aside from Manilow's music my other interests include the Civil War, the ocean--specifically cetaceans, and baseball with a particular interest in the Yankees. The whale in my picture is Inuk. He's one of 3 Beluga whales where I work and was effectively the master of ceremonies at the wedding. Enjoy the site, I will be adding more soon.

Jon in Conn.
