The Cancellation of the Spokane Show - My Saga

I call it a cancellation instead of postponment, because for a number of reasons, we won't return to Spokane in October...

Mom, Engelbert and Me

Mom has been a huge fan of Engelbert's for 40 years, so I grew up listening to his music...

It began when I returned from Vegas in May and called her to fill her in on all the details including, of course, my Barry show. Her voice changed to a soft "little girl" type sound, and she excitedly said "you'll never guess who's coming to town?". I knew immediately who it was! The ingenius marketers had put the tickets on sale just in time for Mother's Day, so I bought us tickets as a gift.

Manilow Live! DVD

All I can say is...why the H.E. double hockey sticks did it take me so long to buy and watch this gem??

Loved the full orchestration! Always my favorite type of accompaniment for Barry, making the music sound more rich and complete. I'm thankful now I let my hubby talk me into the sound-surround system when we bought our new big screen! I'm sure the neighbors were wondering why the windows were rattling.

My Second Show...wow!

We're back from Vegas...we decided to drive this time...oy! Eighteen tiring hours in the truck, but it was SO worth it.

My first Barry show was May 2007 and all I could think about was when I'd get to see him again! I must admit that I was so nervous and excited the first time that I really didn't relax and enjoy the show as much as I could, but this time I did. I'm thinking by the 10th or 11th show I'll be totally relaxed...or will I?? lol

Beautiful weather we've been having, at least it's really nice here in Edmonton. There sure has been a lot happening in the Manilow world hasn't there? My thinking is we're not going to be seeing too many of these in the future.

It's only my guess but when Barry goes to THE PARIS it's going to be more toned down. I can't see him wanting to risk another surgery. He's risking a hip replacement and from some people I heard they are something hard to recover from. Not all people have problems with it but it can take a while regardless.

So what have you been up to? Anything exciting? For me same old same old nothing too adventurous unfortunately. haven't made it to Vegas yet. Hours have been poor at best at work throughout the year and everytime I had the money saved up it had to go into putting a roof over my head etc. It's been good for the past 2 weeks at work but I'm needing things to be constant. I've been looking for other part time work but so far no takers. How about you, work going well for you?
