I was first introduced to Barrys music back in 1981 at the tender age of 19 by my brother inlaw & my husband has never forgiven him since!
I couldn't get enough information about this guy who could somehow reach inside of me & make me feel emotions I never knew existed, so I joined what was then the British Barry Manilow fan club. It was the best thing I ever did, as I met so many wonderful friends over the years because of Barry.
My first concert was Blenheim in 83 & what an amazing time I had in amongst 40,000 fans!
I have seen Barry 25 times plus over the last 27 years in various locations & once in Philadelphia, thanks to a great friend!
I am married to Andy & we met at the ages of 14 at school. So been together a long time. We have two children Holly who is 17 & Gavin who will 15 next.
I work part time as a midday supervisory assistant at my children's former junior school, which I really enjoy.
My hobbies besides Barry being the main one, are photography, gardening, voluntary work, beaded jewellery, dolls house collecting, reading, the internet & emailing friends.
Barry has always been my shining star even in the darkest hours & I couldn't ever imagine my life without him in it!!

sorry its taken me a week to reply. I know its scarry when the kids get dressed up for the proms, they look so grown up. My son starts secondary school in sep i cant believe it. Your physic groups sound great and the crystals, you could predicting a barry return before long!! It has been so sad with all the michael jackson stuff, where you a fan?
What are u up to over the school holidays, we are going to ibiza on sat for a week, but not much else when we get back, other than we are having an extension which has been q stressful.
Look forward to hearing from you again soon.
Like you, i rarely come on here these days. Seems like such a long time ago that we were all on here getting excited about a certain fella arriving in december!
I am ok thanks. Had a rotten evening last night with the old ears though. I went back to the hospital and have to start the physio again and also look into relaxation which should help. I also think 7 weeks away from work should be a positive! The kids there have been awful for the last few weeks and i wont be sad to see some of them go off to school!!
How are you feeling now mate?
Will you be doing anything special in the hols? We havent really got any plans but we will be going to gt.yarmouth for the weekend at the end of september. Me and james tend to have days out and just see how we feel.
It would be nice if you could get away to the cottage-that must be lovely.
Gavin certainly did look dapper for his prom! It soon comes around doesnt it?
I didnt mind the heat, but it was a bit much for me. I dont mind it if i have nothing to do!
Did you see the michael jackson memorial? Cant say i was a fan although some of the music was pretty good. I watched it as i thought it was such a huge thing, i wanted to be in on it. I thought it was really quite good but had a bawl when his brother sang a solo, and also when the little girl broke down. Cant imagine how his fans feel-must be so rotten.
Well, on that depressing note-i will wish you agreat weekend and take care. Hope to hear from you soon love Ali xx
I hate it now there getting older, my son will start secondary school in sep, and my daughter was 19 in may. I wished id had another one now!
Have you booked your tkt? xx
Hope you and the family are well.
Glad to hear that your charity event went so well-sounds as though it was great fun!
How are you getting on back at work? It doesnt take long to feel like you have never had a break does it?! By 12.30 on tuesday i had had enough and decided i need another break! We have booked a cottage in the yorkshire dales for half term so hopefully that will be a nice break. My foot is still really sore though and the doctor reckons it could be another 8 weeks before it heals and even then i could need physio! Maybe walking round the dales isnt the best idea!!
Wow, it sounds like your friend had a fantastic time with barry. What wouldnt we give for a hug with that guy?
I am having problems syncing my ipod at the moment and funnily enough, everyone thinks its because there is too much manilow on there-as if!! Whatever it is, it is annoying me.
I am off to the theatre with my mum on monday to see brain conley which should be a good laugh.
Well, enjoy the rest of the weekend mate-make the most of the sun-sounds like it wont be here much longer! take care love ali xx
Hope you had a good easter. We started decorating the bedroom so its all a bit of a mess here at the moment! I have just been out and bought some new drawers, lamps and picture frames-be glad when it is all done!
The ankle is ok thanks but still pretty painful a lot of the time. I may go and see the doctor and see what he says before i go back to work as i would have thought it would feel better by now.
I hope you are keeping well mate-and the family too.
Did you get to weston super mare? We are looking at getting a cottage in yorkshire for the half term holiday which will be nice. Hopefully i may be able to walk better by that time!!
How did your friends platinum experience go-i really envy that! I certainly wouldnt sleep for a few nights before and probably a few after! I remember that feeling after shows where i wouldnt sleep for hours and couldnt quite believe i had just been in the same room as 'him' !!
Well take care my friend and i hope to hear form you soon, im off to strip some wall paper! Love ali xx
I am well thanks-how are you? I had to have time off work last week as james left his trainers at the bottom of the stairs and i fell over them! Ended up in casualty at 6am sunday morning with a badly sprained ankle-which thankfully now is a lot less painful.
Now, people i have a 'thing' for you ask. Obviously barry is right at the top there but i have a thing for simon cowell although i cant explain that at all. I think jeremy kyle is pretty hot too. Mainly i like guys who are funny like rob brydon and lee mack.
We are going to see the film about a shopping mall cop-cant think what its called-then me and rach are going to see 'the boat that rocked' as i like bill nighy!
Havent got many plans for the hols though-lots of housework is calling to be done. have you got any plans? I bet you are looking forward to your holiday-you lucky thing! Ihope your cake stall goes well and makes lots of money. I have seen some of your cakes on your facebook page and they look great.
