At 10:01am on April 20, 2009, Beth Wood said…: Best Friends Animal Sanctuary - it's in Utah. I went there to volunteer for two days after Barry. They have dogs, cats, horses, pigs, bunnies and birds there. Look up Best Friends online. If you like animals you'll love this place. They have a show on the National Geographic channel on Friday at 10:00 pm called Dogtown. I spent my time with the cats - they currently have 800 cats and 600 dogs. Barry and animals - the perfect vacation!!

Things have been hectic since I got back - catching up with work and things. But it is all worth it!! I had such a great time both in Vegas and at Best Friends. And I feel so lucky to have met such nice people like you and Gina! I received Gina's photos on Friday and spent the weekend looking and daydreaming. I'm more than ready to go back and hope that I can see a few concerts and go to Best Friends this fall. We'll see what the financial situation looks like. I was supposed to get a $3,000 bonus here at work and because of the "economic situation" it isn't going to happen. Oh well, easy come easy go.

I hope all is well in your world. The weather here is the same as yours. Saturday was just lovely and now we have rain (and maybe S_ _ W) for four days. Good reasons to stay in and listen to Barry.

It never gets easy. my mom retired in 97 and decided she wanted a dog--a big dog so she got Zak a golden--6 weerks later he came to live with me. He passed 11/11/06 he had a fast growing tumor in his heart. Goldens sometimes get these in a matter of weeks usually around the age of 6. I was lucky and had him till he was 9. He was my heart. I don't know if I could ever go thru this again--so I shower my love on my friends and my sister's dogs.
