Dear Barry I can only echo what Brandon has written. Furthermore, I have not been affected by these cancellations. However, although I can empathise with them; the reaction was somewhat mind-blowing. I was shocked that you felt compelled to explain…

Thank you from the UK!!!

Hi Barry

Thank you for an amazing week from the Graham Norton interview to the four concerts, which I attended. You were wonderful. At all the shows you created passion, fun, entertainment, atmosphere, frivolity, emotion and you realised (although in shock, at times) that we gave it back to you. As a performer and person, you reap what you sow... and you sure got a reaction from the UK!! We are all so grateful for your return to your second "home."

We will always be here.

Thank you for all yo… Continue

Hi Patsy
I know how you feel - we are able to listen to the radio at work and most of the time we listen to Century (when I am on my own, I can listen to Radio 2!) I nearly jumped out of my skin the other day when I heard the trailer for Barry's show in Manchester. Now I have one ear tuned to the radio - just in case! Everyone knows where I will be next week!
Have a ggod day!

Hi Patsy
Thank you for the birthday greeting.
Yes, I'm glad the ticket stress is over! It has been a long road and I still have to contact the bank after the show regarding a refund for the original Saturday ticket but at least I know I will be going to all of the shows - and that was all I wanted. A signing would be wonderful - and I have my album and single all ready just in case - but I am just happy that I will be able to see him, especially on the 6th! I'm not very optimistic about the tickets for the Graham Norton show; the television company said they would send questionnaires to everyone who had applied but I haven't received anything either by post or email. The question is: given the overwhelming response, how will they decide?
I'm glad you found the photo helpful - like you, I'm surprised they haven't sold all the tickets for the party but there may be a sudden influx nearer the time.

Hope you have a good week!

Hi Patsy
If I hear of anyone who wants tickets I will tell them to leave a comment for you. I can't believe the time has passed so quickly! One good thing about all the hassles - I haven't had to wait months and months for this. I'm surprised that tickets are still available for the party - the club does look very small but it may go back a long way so might be bigger than we think. It was my birthday yesterday and my mother gave me £20, which will go towards the "I must remember to eat before a show!" fund. The plan is to go the 02 early each night, which won't be cheap but gone are the days when I could go to a show on an empty stomach! I don't know if you are staying at the Holiday Inn but they only cater for breakfast so unless there's a Tesco or Waitrose nearby I think we may have to plan in advance!
I ordered the 80s cd from Amazon on prority shipping - more expense but I just couldn't wait! Everyone is asking for a signing so if this happens, I'm quite happy to have a second copy LOL! Mind you it would be nice if they allowed us to take other things as well. I have a promo copy of Barry's very first album from 1973 and I would love to show that to him and ask him to sign it. I also have a promo of Could It Be Magic from the same period also on Bell. Both of these are just longing for a signature! Still I'm just hapy to be able to go to all of the shows. I don't even mind missing out on Graham Norton as long as I know I will see him from Thursday onwards.
Can't wait to meet you on the 5th, have a good week!

Hi Patsy
I loved Can't Smile Without You! I agree - Chesney Hawkes' acting could have been better, but they did say it was his first stage role and no matter how much you rehearse it's the experience that counts. I hope he goes on to do other things.
Thanks for the information on the invoice - I tought they'd just have a list of those who had booked and tick them off on the door. I went to London a few weeks ago and took some pictures of the Inc Club. Here is one of them:

I was thrilled to see "Never Gonna Give You Up" on the cd track listing - the eighties were my teenage years as well - I remember buying the Rick Astley album! Wonder what happened to him? I had hoped Barry would record "A Different Corner" by George Michael instead of "Careless Whisper" but I suppose he wanted to stick to songs that everyone knew. This whole album reminds me of growing up - the best bits! I still have a lot of eighties songs on casette and some cd compilations as well. All aboard the Good Ship Nostalgia - next stop 1983...sorry, just a "Back To The Future" moment there! I hope he brings some of the songs to the 02 & MEN!
Hope you have a great weekend - less than 7 weeeks to go!

Hi Patsy Thanks for your comment! Only eight weeks to go...I can't wait!!
"Can't Smile Without You" was wonderful! I had always hoped I would someday hear "Weekend In New England" as a duet - it was fantastic! I don't know how they managed to sing "Sweet Heaven" and "All The Time" in counterpoint - IMO it was a work of genius! I think Barry would love the show - I just hope he manages to catch a performance before the end of the run. He may go to the very last performance in the West End - I hope so!
