For those of you who are going to the Hollywood Bowl, it is very important that you read the hollywoodbowl.com web site. They have a limited number of parking places and they do have shuttle buses that come from all over Los Angeles and deliver you there.
You can also print out a map of the bowl area too!
If you think you'd like to drive to the bowl (you must get there early) and I suggest that you call 323-850-2000 and pre-purchase your parking. They have "stacked" parking.
We will be meeting between 4-4:30 in picnic area #5. The parking is opened at 3:30. Since they are having the fund raiser at 5pm, I'd definately plan on getting there early if you'd like to see everyone!
They do have places you can purchase food if you want.
How ya feeling girl? Hope things are good. I have thought about you a lot, but not good about getting to the phone sometimes....thinking about you & sending a hug. Mitzi

Shelley,
Yes, my girlfriend and I saw him at the Troubador. I'm not sure of the exact date but it was '75 and close to my friends birthday which would have been February. I remember him singing the commercial jingle thingy ( I thought it was cute, but when he sang "Could It Be Magic" it just blew my socks off. I told my friend " This guy is gonna make it big".
Wow. I didn't know how right that was. We used to like going to The Troubador and The Roxy back in the days, because they were such small venues (always good seats) and you could see some upcoming great talent there. We were just fortunate to pick the Troubador that nigh. It was quite memorable, and turned me into a Barry fan. Of course my girlfriend Carrie turned into a fanatic. I think the word I used for her was obsession. I didn't see him again until 1980 in Vegas when I got married. He was at The Riviera and I couldn't drag my husband to go but Carrie and I went. Of course he was a superstar by then but I remember thinking to myself "Gosh 5 years ago you were playing The Troubador and here you are now, you've come a long way baby" lol.
Gosh you are close by, we are practically neighbors! Are you doing a Platinum this year? I am but it's not until Oct. 30th. Many of the Barry pictures I've posted on my page were my girlfriend Carries, who was killed last year in a car accident by a drunk driver. Her daughter gave me two huge boxes of Barry concert programs, tons of concert photos, and other memorabelia. It's been a bit overwhelming but it sure brought me back into Barry mode!!.
Well hope to meet you someday we can sit and chew the fat about The Troubador and Barry of course. What a long and amazing carreer he has had!
Always, Pat
P.S. Do you remeber the name of that other club that had performances that was very popular in the 60's & 70's. It was on a corner and I just can't recall the name (it's on the tip of my tongue but lost in my aged brain). Oh wait now I remember The Whiskey-A-Go-Go, very popular but small venue also.
Hi Shelly, may I ask you how you were able to get a picture with Barry, you see I am trying to surprise my wife with a trip to vegas this month for our 25th and it would the greatest if I can do the same. Please read the blog I wrote it saids it all.
Thanks Keith
