I have been a fan of Barry's since the mid-70's. I credit him and his music with helping me to transition my sad suburban soul to the City person I was destined to become. I really had New York City Rhythm from a very young age, and it was so awesome to have it affirmed!!!
In those early years, his music supported my development as a young feminist, and as an adolescent finding my way.
His powerful music and voice have connected so many dots for me along my life's journey and still continue to do so.
Barry was and still is my true American Idol!

It's the Hammer of Justice, It's the Bell of Freedom...
Peter Yarrow, aka "Peter" of Peter, Paul and Mary, made a surprise appearance today and sang for 250 volunteers at the Obama Headquarters Phonebank in lower Manhattan. - Hi Steph: We watched "Mall Cop" last night for my belated Mother's Day after dinner with my family,my Mom and Brother. LOL one part of the movie when he thinks he's lost his girl, he put on his CD player and who starts singing..."Weekend In New England"...there is just no way of getting away from Barry~!
