How would you go about getting an autograph from Barry?

I've seen a few pictures on here where people have signed pictures of Barry. I know it's possible for you to send a picture in the mail with a SASE, but how does that all work? Can you still do that?

Thank You
:]

Adele,
I didn't do 23 hours but I did get up in the middle of the night to get to London in time for the wrist bands. You were up front, my friend and I were many rows back. It was a real shame we had to stand there for 3 hours just looking at Barry before we got to shake his hand!!!!!!!!!!! (I don't think!).

How would I go about, getting BARRY´S autograhp. if I could be so lucky and he wanted to do it. I actually would ask him myself. OK, now you think, I´M GOING TOTALLY BANANARAMA CRAZY. But the fans, who are lucky, doing a Platinum, can take this chance, asking very politely and sweet, IF they could have a little note, with this WONDERFUL ENTERTAINER´S NAME on it. If then he does it, you´ll feel in HEAVEN, if not, I know, I´ll understand, because anyway, YOU´RE MEETING HIM and furthermore, you´ll have the BEST AUTOGRAPH EVER, namely a PICTURE. So do you actually NEED this autograph. But also I know, not all can do this Platinum, and then I might do, what CJ say, mail the BMIFC. I actually think, you have to be, where BARRY is, on the concert place, if oyu can be lucky, catching him to a book-record or other kind of signing, BEFORE he goes into a rehearsal or something. I can´t see any other possibilities. MANILOVE VIBEKE.

Vibeke,
Unless things have changed in addition to the professional photo and disposable camera with candid photos part of the Platinum package is an autographed Music and Passion book plus a bunch of other goodies.

Hi Barbara,

I did Platinum on April 4th of this year. Barry no longer signs a program. Instead he signs a Manilow, Music and Passion poster for you. The poster is the same as the mural that is on the outside of the Hilton. I had mine framed and it looks beautiful.

Hi CJ,

It's about 13 X 20 and I had it double matted, non glare glass and a silver frame around it. Cost a small fortune to do it, but well worth it. Barry signed it in silver sharpie saying "Bonnie, Love, Barry Manilow". It hangs right next to my PC so I can look up at it and say "Hello Gorgeous" any time I want LOL. It's something I will treasure the rest of my life.

Bonnie, did you ask for it or does BARRY just do it, because it´s in the Platinum ticket or what do you do. It sounds like, it´s in the ticket and he just do it. I would rather not sound too "demanding" or ask for something, I surely can´t have anyway. As for the professional picture, I know, it´s a part of the ticket. MANILOVE VIBEKE.

Hi Vibeke,

No you don't have to ask for it, Barry signs one for you just before you leave him to go to the showroom. You also get the Professional photo of you and Barry together, a M&P Champagne glass, a platinum lanyard, the disposable camera with your candid photos taken during your meeting with Barry, and an M&P bag (from the M store) to carry all your goodies.

When you go to the showroom your seat will have a nice card attached to it with your name on it saying you are a VIP, don't forget to take that with you too.

I hope your Platinum experience will be as wonderful as mine was.

Hello Ladies

At the risk of repeating myself...
I got Barry's autograph!!! LOL

This was last September in NYC at The Today Show.
I posted about it on the BarryNet.
Barry was in an extremely good mood that day;
mingling with the crowd a few times, and signing a
few autographs. I was one of the lucky ones!!!
He signed my 1985 Manilow RCA Songbook that I
had won that June in a Raffle at Retros Barry Birthday
Party! So, I won the songbook and 3 months later
Barry signed it...I'm extremely lucky...and you can
bet that won't happen again...at least, to me!

It took me until 2 months ago to find a dark wood shadowbox frame to put it in. I happened to find one in of all places at one of those Dollar General Stores; it had been marked down to $4, but when I got to the register it came up as $l.00! It has some Asian thingy in the center of it; but, the book fit just fine right over the top of it. Barry signed it in black sharpie right on
the white shirt...looks wonderful!!! And, it's hanging right above my computer monitor above my desk where I often gaze up at the beautiful face...and remember!
I'll NEVER forget that day...LOL After he signed the book, he tucked it under his arm...and wasn't giving it
back. I think he wanted to say something to me about
it; but, was distracted by some woman who hogged the
camera wanting her tshirt signed! I had to place my
hand on his arm...and ask for it back...LOL He looked
at me with those gorgeous baby blues, smiled and then
gave it back! Wish I had pictures! That part didn't
make it on camera...unfortunately; but, I'll NEVER forget!

What makes it all the more special is that the book was a last minute thought as I hurried out the door...
the night before to take 3 trains and wait alone from
1:30 am until 5:30 am when friends finally showed up!
Boy, could I have used Barry pulling up in his limo then...LOL
I thought...take the book...you NEVER know! LOL

So, if you ever get to go to see Barry at a TV show
take something...'cause you NEVER know!
Geez...NEVER seems to be a recurring them here...LOL
Well, I guess with Barry, that's just it! LOL

Hugs
Mary :o)

Hi
I queued for eight hours outside HMV in London, and if it wasn't for the signed CD that I'm looking at right now, I'd think it had all been a dream.

I think, unless you are doing a Platinum, or going to a signing, it would be very difficult to get an autograph from Barry. If you know someone who is going to a Platinum, it might be worth asking if they can somehow ask Barry to sign a programme for you... but I don't know how difficult that would be.

Hi Marilyn

It does ring a bell, but it doesn't count because actually the one you got Barry to sign for me is addressed to your husband (lol)... I do laugh when I look at it though, because it's a real talking point, when I show it to people they say "whose Mick?", then I tell them the story and they love it, they think it's great and it makes that programme all the more special for me.
Love Ros.

Hi Bekah

The way I got a book signed was when I went Platinum in 2004. I don't know any other place to get one unless you to Amazon.com and someone might be selling something.
