I agree with you completely!!! I miss the old board, too. But someone said that the old board would be back up in a week or so. Don't know how true that is.
This one is too "busy" -- too much going on. :) Or maybe it's just that I'm too old to get used to new things. :)

I´ve just been on the old one. Barrynethomepage.com. What I have to get used to in here, is that you got "My page" with "my comments" and that you get messages, saying that there´s a comment for you, in your mail. That, I think, can feel a little confusing on top of,you have to follow posts in the forum. MANILOVE VIBEKE.

You have got to be joking...
Well, I'm sure you're not, but I prefer this to the other "monopolized" message board.
At least here, if I want to say something, I can send it to each of my friends individually, if I choose, and not worry about getting overshouted, overlooked, deleted or booted (all of which happened to me a lot on the old board and it's why I stopped visiting the bnet altogether over a year ago).
I love this. I'm glad they've made this accessible to ALL of Barry's fans.

I like this message board format better too.

I like being able to open a thread on a topic that interests me, follow that discussion, and skip the rest. I also love seeing many full messages and replies on one page, rather than have to click back and forth all the time. All the personal messages and inside jokes between friends were fine with me, but I just didn't have time to go into all that. I'm probably missing something by having to pick and choose, but if I go through all of the posts there'd be no time for drum practice or playing Uno with my family.

It's also great for people who can't post all the time. It felt strange coming back and posting say, every other month or so, and people having no earthly idea who I was. Now they can click and find my profile.

The only thing I miss is all the FANTASTIC information Gary Oye had on the old site... like the Concert history and memories, and all the liner notes and songwriting credits in one place. I got so used to using that fantastic resource, I'm not even sure where my CD cases are anymore! I hope they find a way to integrate it into the new format.

That was the only concern I had about this new setup was the loss of all that wonderful information and memories. But it's all still there. :)

I agree. You can choose the conversations that you want to be involved in and there is a thread, so you can follow it a lot easier. It took a little getting used to, but I love this new format. If you were not "in" you were totally ignored. This is MUCH better.

I have to disagree. I have posted more in the past 24 hours on this one than in the 3 years on the other one. This one is far more interesting and you really can opt in or out of discussions very easily, and I'm not that computer literate!!
Give it a little time and explore what's on it, apparently there will be more in the next week. I am even sure that Barry himself was on it last night!!

Hi everyone
I used to only read messages on the old board and never posted - didnt know how to. This board is brilliant and so easy to post, even for a computer "virgin" like me. Yes Barry was on the board last night (UK time). I think he said that this will be only part of the new updated barrynet and other bits of it are being done now. If you go to members page you will see barry as a member! and last night it said he was on line. I have read a couple of responses he made to some of the early members. I cant believe how many have logged on now. When I found the site there was only about 53 members at that time. This is great and to get such wonderful photos and videos I am in Barry heaven!
