GOD BLESS AMERICA! Another great July 4th, celebrating another anniversary of the Greatest Country on Earth. A country with unequaled freedom and opportunity. A country strong enough to last through the most corrupt administration in US history (the abysmal Clinton/Gore fiasco) to stand proud and true. Is it a perfect place? No..but there's a reason why more people bust their butts to come HERE more than anywhere else in the world. Because if you work hard, you WILL make it...this is the country to make it all happen. That's why everyone comes here. (Although ILLEGALS should NOT be here. Illegals HURT our great country. Come here LEGALLY like my people did.)
Again, GOD BLESS AMERICA and in the words of Johnny Ramone, God Bless President Bush. He stands tall in protecting this great land (NO terrorist attacks since 9/11 and many plots taken down) and in gracefully standing up to all the shameful disgusting attacks on him from the extreme-left. While serial rapist and liar Bill Clinton (elected twice without a voter majority) gets red-nosed with anger at every little criticism that comes his way and loses control like a cannon and starts yelling and screaming, Bush stands tall with dignity and grace, deflecting every disgusting attack with class that a tactless bum like Clinton (and Gore) could never understand.
Again, is America perfect? No. But it is, IMO and many, the BEST place on Earth to be (and I don't see all the USA-haters in a rush to leave this country either). Again, I can't say it enough, GOD BLESS AMERICA (yes, that is GOD I said). Hey, Barry Manilow, who proudly displays the American flag in concert, wrote the song; "Let Freedom Ring." Damn straight! Land of the free, home of the brave.
Don't know if I'm doing this correctly, but I am Steven Fallon from NYC, longtime (very long) Manilow fan. I'll add more as I learn this. Meanwhile, if you wanna see more about me, check out myspace/stevenfallon. As far as friends, sure I'll be friends with any fellow Barryheads! I'm a punk musician and I have a CD coming out in August, but that doesn't mean I can't love the Magic of Manilow. :) Just a few quickie things:
Fave albums - Even Now, If I Should Love Again, This One's For You
Fave songs - Leavin' In The Morning, Why Don't We Live Together, Let's Take All Night, Life Will Go On, In Search of Love, Say The Words, it just goes on and on and on...
Fave songs out of the "hits" - Looks Like We Made It, Somewhere In The Night, Daybreak, This One's For You...but damn, they're all freakin' great!
Fave "bonus" songs on the remastered CDs - Don't Throw It All Away, Halfway Over The Hill
Fave tours (I've seen from '85 on) - MANILOW '85-86 baby! That tour kicked ass and Barry needs to bring some of those killer tunes back! Also Hits tour '93. The Mayflower tour kicked some serious ass too. I like that album and live the songs were even better.
Sometimes I geek out and do a YouTube Barry video. Here's a few that I did and I will do some more too soon. I know they're "simple" but go over there and gimme a great rating anyway! :)

Thank you for the message you sent me. You made reference to the 1978 Greatest Hits album. That's the very album that began my Manilow journey 28 years ago at the young age of 11. I stumbled upon the album in my brother's bedroom, left there by his girlfriend. I played it through and fell in love with the beauty of the music and the stranger he was to me then..Barry.
Maybe just maybe if I got past the whatever it is in punk music that hurts my ears I could actually listen to some of the lyrics after what you told me. Apart from Barry and his amazing music I also adore Darren Hayes (from the now split band Savage Garden). The two men and the music they produce makes for a wonderful world for me. Without music my soul and heart would cry!
Regards and love to you

I had to ask..as a punk artist how do get to appreciate Barry/ Am I right in thinking as a musician you can appreciate another. Punk is so far away from Barry's style to say the least, but I have to say it's so great to hear you do what you do and can see the magic in Barry. I guess or as I see it..you have to have the head for punk and the heart for what Barry does. Could it be the heart to a point is needed for both? Good luck with what you do. Love to you...Sharon x
I don't know you but thanks for joining BCOF. Looking forward to getting to know you better and I would love to hear your CD. Please feel free to post about it on our group when it comes out.
