I don't know what area of Midland I lived; but, the elementary school was Crockett, and the jr. high was Austin (or vise versa). My father was transferred there when I was in 6th grade, and we lived there 4 years.
It was right on the edge of the city at the time.
We could see the dust storms coming--there was nothing in between. We moved from Midland (we lived there 4 years) to Wichita Falls in 1959, and lived there for 2 years.
I liked Texas. I was in Midland when Roy Orbison had a local television program on the Odessa station.
