I have lived in Denver, Colorado, since 1962, and have been a Barry fan since 1974. I am Director of Manilow Forever and a Day BMFC, in Denver. (Please check out our Fan Club in the "groups" section.) I have met wonderful friends, from different locations. It would not have been possible were it not for being a Barry Manilow fan.

REVIEW OF "CANDIDE." From Manilow Forever and a Day BMFC member, Karen P. (Arlington, VA): "My Account of Leonard Bernstein's "Candide," at Wolf Trap (Vienna, VA), July 6, 2008" Drove out to Wolf Trap for the Performing Arts, and arrived around 5:30 pm, and upgraded my 2nd row seat to FRONT ROW PIT seats. "BARRY BIRTHDAY PARTIES," FIRST ANNIVERSARY; AND, FUNDRAISER/RAFFLE "KICK-OFF"

From the accounts/reviews I have read, Barry's Concert on his Birthday was "over the top!!" and so was the BMIFC party for him after the concert. Barry coming by was the absolute "icing on the cake!!" Thank You, Everyone, for your wonderful reviews, and pictures!!! It made me daydream that I was there. This is a Manilow Forever and a Day BMFC member's (Karen P., of VA) account of the Q & A with Marvin Hamlisch, Nikki Yanofsky, Dave Koz, and Monica Mancini......Location: Kennedy Center Concert Hall, Washington, DC. Yes, i am going to all 3 of the O2.Not going to Manchester as by the time my friend and i get back to her place on the sunday[husband driving,plus other side of london in surrey],would have to be up early to travel [coach possibly] would be to much of a hectic day and then accomadation on top. Plus she is going to vegas with husband after christmas, and is trying to redecorate stairs etc.Which i saw she had started when i was there a month ago. Thought party is a no,no as by the time you add up the fee to go, travel by train, and drinks [although 1 alcholic is enough for me, and the soft drinks are just as expensive] am giving it a miss. Shame as i would have liked to have met up with quite a few that i know that are going.Also coming back to other side of London on my own late at night is a no,no.I don't know London that well either.I would have to go with my friend as i wouldn't like to leave her out of it, and as i just said think she would say that money is a bit of a problem for the aforementioned reasons. So better i don't go. If it had been an afternoon party,and was coming back late tea time might have considered it, but for an oap "loner" like me i would not take the risk.Even here in Bristol there are known places to avoid late at night, but even so some of these things happen anywhere. 2 years ago i had a bag of my shopping pinched with my purse,money,keys, bus pass and couple of bank cards on walking home from shop. I wasn't mugged as was resting 2 bags on path, and a youth on a bicycle came round the corner and swooped the one bag up and was gone.The police arrived and i was taken around our area in police car trying to see if we could find anyone like i remembered.No luck.Nice to hear from you again,thankyou.Take care and Manilove.'Bye for now.
