Well, I have never done anything like this before and I'm getting just a bit better at this internet/friends/blog thingy, so I thought I'd talk about an idea I have had for a while.
If given the opportunity (and living on the other side of the world it is VERY unlikely) to talk to Barry, what questions would I like to ask him. Now this is intended to be a bit of fun - so if anyone would like to add any, go right ahead. There are the obvious ones, but these are probably a little left of centre.…

Thanks for your friends request. Great to see many aussies on this site, I guess we are few and far between and have to stick together. It was great to meet other fans the other day in Sydney, I went on my own, everyone was so friendly and we had a really good laugh, with other who "get it". All the stories and videos from shows people have been to was fun to. i hope to get back to Vegas in Oct, have you seen many shows.

I know most of you have seen Brian Culbertson but let me say that this
young man ROCKS! What an opening act he puts on. His new cd was
produced by Maurice White of Earth, Wind, and Fire and you can sure
hear it. His bass player (I think it's bass) was a member of that
group. Everyone was up dancing, tapping their feet and hands and just
having a wonderful time especially during the medly of EW & F songs. I
never, in a million years, would associate jazz and trombone but this
young man is such a talent.
Having never seen an arena show, I didn't really know what to expect.
The arena had a huge audience. I think just the upper tiers weren't
sold out. There is a different energy with Barry when he's in front of
an arena audience. The roar when he came out was deafening. He did say
"I'm Celine Dion" and that got everyone laughing. The orchestra, made
up of local musicians, gave every song a lush, beautiful sound.
His Even Now was "fist pounding on the piano" angry. At the end, even
the band stood up and gave him applause.
Brian Culberson joined him for Brooklyn Blues. It's fun watching Barry
watching other talent. He's so comfortable with his own talent and
celebrity that he doesn't mind sharing the stage with another. He
looked so happy just sitting beind the piano. The trombone brought a
way different sound to the song and Brian has this infectious stage
personality that you cannot help getting up and dancing. It looked to
me that Barry was having problems getting around the piano for
Brooklyn Blues. He didn't jump up on the piano for CSWY and my
girlfriend said that he didn't in Montreal.
Having heard the upbeat version of Could It Be Magic, during the 2004
tour, it was such a treat to hear the slow version. And Somewhere Down
the Road; what a killer! You really could have heard a pin drop when
he went in to the a cappella ending.
At one point Barry was talking about the last time he was in Toronto
and mentioned the venue; Kingwood. He said the top was made up of
draped material. "It looked like brassieres." He then said someone
else, I can't remember, but it had titties in it. Then he laughs that
little boy laugh, as if to say "I said something naughty". Some lady
shouted out that she saw him at Kingwood (or Kingsland, I can't
remember what the name of the venue was) "I saw you July 4, 1991 and
danced with you", she said. Barry laughed and said "Well, thank you
for coming back."
Hope you are doing well.

How are you? Thank you for inviting me to your page.
I see your from Adelaide. We had our honeymoon there nearly 28 years ago. I bet it has changed so much since then...LOL Like everywhere else. Well you be going to Sydney for Barry's Bash. If so, looking forward in meeting you. Well it's pretty cool here in Melbourne and overcast. Toronto and Montreal shows sound like they went extremely well, I'm reading up the reviews now and sounds like all had a ball at the after parties. Well take care and will chat soon.
