Hi Jill,
well I reckon I have seen your sign on one of those video tapes of the shows or it could have been at the actual concert! LOL!
Hey, can you remember the concert in the around at the NEC? That one sure sticks in my mind, as Barry did Can't Smile Without You with a lady called Hazel Bell & I don't think I have laughed so much, as she was such a scream! Also, isn't that the one Barry sang Wild Places at? Oh I do love that song!
I bet we will get to sing Christmas Carols again with it being Dec. I can still see the Christmas trees on either side of the stage from the last time he did one at the NEC during Nov.
Did you used to visit Cornwall on your holidays before you eventually moved there?
I spend hours looking on property websites to check out the house prices but you sure don't get a lot for your money!
We had the chance to move there in the middle 80's, as my husband worked for MFI then. But as we had just two weeks before bought a house here in Nottingham, we decided against it. I sure wish we had gone for it way back then, as we have regretted it every day since! Property was affordable back then!

Hi Jill,
the tickets for the 21st anniversary concert at Bleinheim were about £100 which was pretty steep.I did go but the first concert in 83 will always be my favourite. The weather wasn't very good either that evening, as when they let us in to the courtyard where the stage was, a heavy shower came down so everyones seat was wet.
The tickets for the 02 Arena aren't so badly priced at £70 & £60 but if you want a front row seat you have to bid for it & they are way to expensive!
I used to love the NEC arena as a concert venue, with it only being about an hour away. I used to get seats up the side but I did find that there were a lot of non Barry nuts in those, who used to moan or give you funny looks if you stood up. How can you not get excited, with Barry being in the same room as you?? LOL! So I started to save & buy the seats on the floor which was so much better, as everyone is allowed to go nuts there, as it is normal! I longed to be a CSWY girl & made signs over the years but was never lucky enough. I did have my lifetime dream come true though to meet Barry at the HMV signing & it was amazing! We waited 8 hours but it was worth every second! My signed CD is kept out of sight as if anyone ever broke in & burgled us, they could take anything but that!! MY husband tells me I will be unbearable to live with now till Dec comes & then it will be the same for up to 3 months afterwards. I just tell him that he has know idea what it's like to be so nuts about someone, as he isn't really into music as he prefers the tv.
I have never been to the Eden project even though we have passed it many times. I have an uncle who lives in Sticker near St Austell & he has such a beautiful old fashioned detached cottage that used to be the village cobblers. It is up for sale though now.
Wow this is a long message so I better end it here.
Hope you had a good day. I know they forcast rain for the southwest but as you know, you can never rely on them in Cornwall as it has a climate of it's own!

Hi Jill,
oh I just love Land's End! We were there on Thursday & my husband & I spent our honeymoon at the hotel in 1988. Sennen Cove is fantastic for sunsets!
I have to say I love all of Cornwall but my favourites if I had to choose would be the Lizard Penninsular & St Ives closely follows. If I ever won the lottery I would be down in a flash!
I have just read some really fabulous fiction books by Helen Dunmore about mer people in Cornwall & I know that they are aimed at children but I loved them!
So how long have you been a Barry fan then? Will you be going to the concerts at the 02 Arena? I have managed to get really great tickets to both. Can I send you an an invite to add you to my friends list?

Hi Jill,
just had to drop by & say welcome to the network! I have been a Barry fan since 1981 & couldn't imagine my life somehow without him in it.
How fantastic for you that you live in the most beautiful part of Britain! I adore Cornwall & have done since my parents took me there at the age of 7. Now at 45 my family & I spend at least four weeks a year down there.
I was down in Hayle last week, as we were lucky enough 3 years ago to buy a holiday cottage on the John Fowler site.
Take care, Michele
